There were several geese in the pond when we left early yesterday. I figured they were going to rest a little bit, eat a few fish, eat a little deer corn, and be on their way. When we got back home they were still on the pond so I took a couple of pictures. The 4 regular resident ducks, 1 Mallard and 3 Muscovy ducks were not very happy with the invaders. Nature can be beautiful when we take the time to slow down and notice. Ed B

I caught a baby catfish when I was about 10 years old. About an inch long, brought him or her home, not sure as to the sex, put him/her in a 15 gallon tank. Next thing I know the catfish is 10 inches long and eating goldfish by the dozens. Well, now he/she is back in the Esopus Creek and about 2lbs given what a yellow bullhead should be...Al

Should go out overnight Monday. Don't laugh at the leather gloves. A catfish that size can really do some damage. Cheers! Ed B

We get some big cats around here too, but the flavor is kind of strong when they get this big.

Yes it is from our pond. We stocked it with Channel cats and Brim about 8 years ago. They don't get much bigger than 15-20#. The big cats eat the brim and we also feed them. And the spring fed pond keeps everything nice and fresh. Nothing better! Ed B
