Do they work or is it a gimmic? Every video I see on youtube seems to avoid showing the sweep up path in action.

I've got pine needles and leaves too.

They aren't cheap, how long before you have to change the brushes?

We are on our third one and the ones we've had worked real good. I like the high speed Craftsman. Heavy pine straw can be a problem if the wheels start skidding. As far as brush maintenance goes, polyurethane spray will stiffen them up and you can turn them around when they start getting curved. Ed B

Thanks eddie just what I was looking to hear and thanks for the tips too.

I was thinking that it might be a problem with the wheels just start sliding around but I could try a few screws to stud the wheels and tie some weight to the frame. But then realized thats not a good idea when you get on the street.
